This interactive session is designed for anyone in the arts seeking to foster a collaborative and inclusive environment in their creative practice. Participants will explore key concepts such as diversity, race, and microaggressions through engaging discussions and real-world scenarios tailored to the arts. The session concludes with a group activity that can be easily integrated into rehearsals or creative processes.

Art can be a way to broach hard topics. But sometimes, in our desire to “have the conversation” or “be relevant”, we cause harm.

The 2024 Creating Change Conversations are focused on taking our learning on anti-racism and unsettling, disability justice, LGBTQIA2+ equality, and education and integrating them into our art making- whether in professional spaces or classrooms.

February's Creating Change Conversation highlights the work of two organizations (1 in theatre, 1 in dance) making big strides.

We are excited to resume our Creating Change Conversation series in January 2021 with BIPOC artists looking back at changes made and looking ahead to changes needed in theatre and dance organizations and education.

This month BIPOC and white educators offer their experiences and suggestions to decenter whiteness in your curricula and bring decolonial practices to your classroom.

If you have questions you would like our panelists to answer, please submit them via email. We will try to incorporate them into our discussion.

We are doing registration a little differently this time, through Eventbrite. The conversation is, as always, free. There is an option to include a donation for these timely and important conversations. Suggested donation for this event is $10.
