WELCOME TO INTRO TO MOTIF WRITING
This course is for movement directors, choreographer, fight directors, intimacy directors, movement teacher of all genres as they seek to deepen their creative practice, record their movements, and communicate more efficiently to students and/or performers.
“LABAN BASICS” AND/OR “LABAN FOR ACTORS” ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS COURSE, BUT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL IN SUPPORTING YOUR ASSIMILATION OF THE MATERIAL! They are available in the Education Shop.
This course is delivered entirely online and contains approximately 2 hours of video and written material. Explores the categories of Body, Effort, Shape, and Space, plus Action.
Materials needed:
A device to view the videos for the course
Supplemental materials linked above
A notebook and writing utensil for the practice assignments included with many modules
Includes ideas to incorporate Motif into lessons for both digital and shared space learning.
